Great Allies or Foes: TIME and CHANCE

"I have seen something else under the sun:

The race is not to the swift

or the battle to the strong,

nor does food come to the wise

or wealth to the brilliant

or favor to the learned;

but time and chance happen to them all."

King Solomon, Ecclesiastes 9:11 

This is a great observation made by a man considered to be the wisest, wealthiest and most powerful man alive during that time. (I think people need to carefully heed his advice.)

It's very interesting to know that we will all have our share of blessings and challenges in life as well as what we are calling "breakthroughs", achievements, failures and others. Solomon observed that we all are in a "level field" and that our starting stature or family or social status should not be the reasons or excuses for us to achieve our full potential. And that we will have our share of races won and failures, battles victorious and defeated, abundance of food and scarcity, wealth in its vastness and few, favors bestowed and denied.

The question lies, "How can we improve or increase our chances and times to have or be able to win most races,  battles, many food to spare, sustainable wealth and unmerited favors?" A notable man said, "When opportunity comes, it's too late to prepare." Opportunities abound and the people who can appreciate and succeed on these are the people who have prepared or are preparing for such.

Fortunately, we will have our times and chances. But will we be able to hold and succeed in such opportunities by preparing and developing plans NOW?

The thing is we only prepare for the things we are "visibly seeing" of WHO we are and WHAT we have. Who are you becoming daily? What have you been expecting to own as a result of your becoming? Benjamin Franklin, a noted inventor and philosopher, once said, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.” This is where we create the future we desire and not cling on to the present circumstances.

Let’s create our future NOW because we will soon live there and no one will do it for us. Procrastinate and lose? Or Take Action and succeed? The choice is made with our daily action.

FOR OUR CIRCUMSTANCE TO CHANGE, WE ULTIMATELY MUST CHANGE.

TIME and CHANCE will either be our allies or foes depending on who we are or are becoming...daily.
